Hello, my name is Ruby. I am a certified medical coder with 14 years of experience in patient financial services and health Information management. I hold two AHIMA medical coding certifications, including the certified coding specialist (CCS) and the certified specialist-physician base (CCS-P). I have six years of experience coding outpatient accounts for a hospital. My first certification was my CCS-P taken in ICD-9-CM, and my CCS certification was earned most recently and taken in ICD-10-CM. Also, I have held the RHIT AHIMA certification since 2019. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health information management. I have completed classes accredited by AHIMA in the following subjects: introduction to computer applications, basic medical terminology, human form and function, introduction to health information management, legal aspects of health care, basic pathophysiology, pharmacology for allied health, international classification of diseases, diagnosis coding (ICD-10), CPT procedural coding, health information management statistics, health care quality management, HIM computer applications, alternative delivery systems, introduction to management, and medical insurance and reimbursement methodologies.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy the one-on-one interaction with the student. My goal is to help medical coding students gain knowledge and confidence with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS. I am now excited about sharing my knowledge and expertise with coding students.
