Career Experience
Howdy! I am a physics research scientist specializing in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) phenomena. Over the past decade, I have dedicated myself to the study of physics, culminating in the completion of my Ph.D. last summer. Following that, I undertook a year of postdoctoral research, including the application hyperspectral imaging design to infrastructure diagnostics. Throughout my academic journey, I have actively sought out teaching and tutoring opportunities. My experience includes forming and leading class study groups, serving as a supplemental instruction (SI) leader for introductory college math courses, working as a paid physics tutor at my university, and volunteering at the local physics learning center (PLC) to provide homework assistance. I also collaborated with professors to establish mini-PLCs for their graduate classes and have worked as an online tutor through various platforms. Supporting students in these ways has brought me immense joy and balance, even during the busiest days of research, paper writing, and administrative responsibilities.
I Love Tutoring Because
I love tutoring because it reinforces and deepens my own understanding of physics and mathematics, ensuring that my knowledge remains sound and consistent. Guiding students through their challenges often reveals new perspectives, and tackling the puzzle of their confusion is one of the fastest ways for me to identify and address gaps in my own knowledge. Plus, I genuinely enjoy it!
