AAMU’s motto is “Service is Sovereignty,” and the culture emanated is that of power through knowledge. The Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development (OSALD) is a springboard to activities and events that bring the student body together and create opportunities to interact, develop skills, and enrich each student’s college experience. During “Welcome Week,” first-year and returning students are introduced to the more than 50 clubs and organizations available on campus. The Student Government Association is the perfect complement to round out the portfolio of anyone interested in making an active contribution to the university student life experience. The school hosts numerous interactive social events throughout the year like Karaoke Night and Screen on the Green Movie Night—great ways to meet and connect with peers and friends. AAMU prides itself on taking care of student wellbeing. To that end, there is the 78,000-square-foot Student Health & Wellness Center, which offers multiple ways to stay healthy with everything from boxing classes to aquatic lessons.
