Graduates

Named as one of the nation's top 50 medical schools for primary care medicine by U.S. News & World Report, TCOM is a leader in training physicians skilled in comprehensive primary care. Approximately 65 percent of TCOM's graduates practice primary care medicine (family practice, general internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology). One of the distinct advantages of an osteopathic medical education is that it prepares students to enter all three of the nation's residency programs: allopathic, military and osteopathic. Our graduates have been placed in residency and internship positions throughout the United States. UNT Health Science Center offers residency programs through the Texas Osteopathic Postdoctoral Training Institutions (OPTI) in the following areas: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radiology, Surgery and Manipulative Medicine. The Health Science Center also offers fellowship programs in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, Geriatric Medicine, Sports Medicine and Vascular Surgery.
